NARSOL: FL sheriff posts “blue & red house” map on Facebook, ignores threats to registrants
“I’m worried for my family,” he wrote. “Today the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office decided to put a picture of a map of all the houses where registered citizens live on its Facebook page. The comments that were allowed are absolutely disgusting.”
As I read the email, I could feel the fear that the writer was expressing. I’m the communications director for the National Association for Rational Sexual Offense Laws – NARSOL — and I frequently get emails from all over the country from people required to register on sexual offense registries. This one came from DeSoto County, Florida and had an urgent tone. I located the Facebook page and found the comments that the Florida registrant referred to.
“Open season?” wrote someone named Josh and quickly had a response. “Where can we get tags?”
The response to that from the first writer is the most chilling of all. “They have their address on each location and they can’t own firearms so . . .”
Each of the comments is sprinkled liberally with hearts and thumbs-up memes, all indicative of approval. So in addition to the two men engaged in this exchange, there are a dozen or more like-minded individuals who expressed their approval of the rightness of hunting and killing fellow human beings who are helpless to defend themselves and their families because they are forbidden by law to own the means by which to do so.
Im in volusia county fl, overheard a neighbor say” im gonna get this one outta this neighborhood” while pointing to my house. Question is a air pellet gun allowable for a rso to own. Its not a firearm?
Bob, what State are you in? Here in Michigan, the legislature reclassified air rifles back in 2015 to no longer define them as firearms. As a felon, I am now allowed to own them and I have several high caliber air rifles, ranging from .22 caliber to .50 caliber.
Trust me, a couple of them will do some serious harm.
Truthandjusrice,
I like you, have NO real Victum, it doesent matter and never will. Now I am dealing with my ability to travel out of state with as little BS interbention as possable.
My issue now is that the Woman at the VCSO see to be allowed to make up rules as they go. I was told to change my primary address to the address where I woudl be staying out of state. They said my Drivers license needed to have that.
They are confused as to a change in Permanent address out of state and travel to another state reqwuirements.
Dont think they are sworn officers, do you know?
Bob
In Chitwood’s County?! Not likely. When I was on probation in Volusia the sheriff’s office had a fit with woodworking tools.
Not only are individuals on the registry unable to do much to protect themselves or their families… BUT we are not able to monitor FB to see what threats are being said. How can law enforcement say they are here to “Protect and Serve” and then shake this can of hornets. Maybe having the random nut go out and shoot up public places is just too horrifying, so the Sherrif is trying to focus the attention to places where the self proclaimed protector can then thin out the RSO herd. Am I being overly worried?
I think not. Each year at Halloween I am required to put up a sign in my yard. Each year my wife and I go out to dinner, a movie, anyplace but at home. For 14 years I worried that I would come home to find my home would be vandalized in such a manner as my dog would be harmed or worse. He has since passed on so that worry is gone. BUT I still worry that I will find someone has done something to my home.
DeSoto County should be ashamed of themselves. Just ashamed.
Someone currently stands accused of targeting SCOTUS Justice Kavanaugh. The Congress is creating bills to provide protection to all Justices as a result…at taxpayer expense. Yest, PFR are targeted daily and nothing happens to protect us. We don’t even have the right to defend ourselves with firearms anymore. These issues need to be raised everytime someone like this sheriff does something like this.
You can, however, own pepper spray. I recommend the type used for bears. Keep a can by your bed. Install cameras, eye level and street view. Also, you can possibly own black powder firearms (citation needed), knives, baseball bats, crossbows, and archery equipment, among other projectile weapons and accoutrements.
Ben
Not in Florida anymore. I use to own it and got stopped. The cop was cool and gave me the new statue. They changed the statue that Felons period can no longer possess pepper spray or mace.
Note where it states cannot own
790.23 Felons and delinquents; possession of firearms, ammunition, or electric weapons or devices unlawful.—
(1) It is unlawful for any person to own or to have in his or her care, custody, possession, or control any firearm, ammunition, or electric weapon or device, or to carry a concealed weapon, including a tear gas gun or chemical weapon or device, if that person has been:
(a) Convicted of a felony in the courts of this state;
(b) Found, in the courts of this state, to have committed a delinquent act that would be a felony if committed by an adult and such person is under 24 years of age;
(c) Convicted of or found to have committed a crime against the United States
At Cherokee, I did not know that. My family is not registered yet, so perhaps I would come to learn that. But interesting to know. And what BS.
What happened to “See something, Say something” I guess not so much….and this I knew already.
Ben you are partially right you can have knives etc. UNLESS you are on any kind of supervision then you can have NO weapons at all unless you get permission from your PO. I was even told my hammer that was at the football of my bed that I used to reach up and open and close the ac vent would be considered a weapon if I left it there. As far as sprays I used to carry a can of wasp and hornet spray in my semi you hit someone in the face with that stuff its nasty. And it usually has about a thirty foot reach
Yeah and Russias special operations in Ukraine is not hurting anyone . There just protecting the Ukraine people. If you believe that than you will also believe these actions against registered persons is not a danger to anyone. Yet many believe these things so don’t be surprised.
A good lawsuit might get it shut down by injunction
Not really surprised that the department turns a blind eye. The obvious rhetorical question is if the topic was shooting a church sttendee, school, or some other unspecified person would their reaction be different. Most of us know the answer. Keep moving forward, through endurance we conquer.
We need to ask Facebook why they allow violent threats against RSOs. I’ve reported enough of them and never had one been taken down.
Facebook only cares if you are gay/trans, a religious or ethnic minority, or if you are a female bullied by a male. Everyone else us fair game.
Yet they tout that they will not defend , participate in , or promote hate speech of any kind. I guess your right this statement only applys to the people or issues they want to promote. Its all about public perception.
What can we do as a group to reach out to this sheriff’s department as a group and apply pressure?
I’ve been on the Facebook post itself arguing with the idiots. If registrants can’t themselves, I’m sure they have friends who can.
I’ve gone down in-person before and complained about this kind of thing. They will tell you. If someone doesn’t commit a crime they can’t do anything. They been doing this for years in one way or another. I even told them how my kids were harassed. They basically said. Kids will be kids.
@ Pariah: “can’t do anything”…. And yet they have no problem with US (PFRs) being punished for very unlikely, potential future crimes all day, every day, for time eternal!! 😡
Bob
I would not recommend an air gun or anything that looks like a weapon. It wouldn’t protect you and only give them justification for using a fire arm of some kind. I was convicted of a misdemeanor so I can legally own a fire arm. But I would never brand it unless my family was in immediate danger and as a last resort. They are the ones in the wrong let’s keep it that way.
https://prospect.org/justice/police-have-no-duty-to-protect-the-public/
Based on the recent political speeches the local sheriffs give around the state wanting to keep increasing the allowable living distance from the community where no recent incident were committed only fear that more people are moving into the county and they don’t want that. I honestly believe this is a deliberate act to insight fear and acts of violence to the locals, to pass more restrictions on the registrant or even better in the sheriffs mind force them to move out of their jurisdiction.
We live in columbia county florida and i deal with offenders on a daily basis and have been told by the sheriff that no one on the registry is allowed to own any weapon as means of protection. So if someone breaks into my house we cant be protected we have to PRAY AND HOPE THE POLICE ARRIVE BEFORE WE ARE DEAD if we can even reach them for help. Its a very scary thing to know that even the TRULY INNOCENT people accused of this crime cant be protected. We were told that we couldnt even have a baseball bat as protection. IF EVERYONE HAS DONE THE TIME FOR THIS CRIME AND REALLY TRULY WANT A FRESH START IN LIFE HOW CAN THEY DO THAT WITH THIS BIG BULLSEYE PAINTED ON THEIR BACKS….. ……I AM……ONE REALLY SUPER MAD PERSON BELIEVING IN 2ND CHANCES
Tanya, what about a cast iron frying pan? I wooden rolling pin? A kitchen knife? I wouldn’t be complacent like a sheep being led to the slaughter if someone came in my house and threatened me. Of course here in Michigan, we have a “stand your ground” law, meaning if someone breaks into my house and brandishes a weapon, I do not have to retreat, but can fight back with deadly force. Check the laws in your area.
I was quite pleased to see several people on that facebook post speaking out against the sheriff, especially Daphne Thomas. She was being extremely vocal and condemning those who were posting threats.
We were told our only defense was to call the sheriff or face him going back to prison for defending our home and family. It’s really disgusting how people can’t defend themselves without being threatened of having their freedom removed. Yet a drug dealer can continue to give out his drugs or a thief can continue to steal or whatever…..or all these woman falsely accusing men of these crimes just to get out of their relationships only to find out they have accused the guy before them and the guy after them of the same crime……duh SEE a pattern there and yet they continue to be a threat
Non-weapons can be improvised as means of self-defense, as some have noted. Necessity is the mother of invention.
Perhaps the sheriff may be referring to those under supervision? I’d like to see the statute that says otherwise. In then end, prison is better than being dead, IMO. I don’t live in FL but if it turned out you couldn’t even defend yourself (I heard that kind of junk in prison) then that would be one more reason to leave that state behind. They will have to stand for their crimes one day in a court where there are no good ol boys to cover for them and no chance for appeal.
I wouldn’t get my hands dirty for their sake if I were you. Just move.
Can I own a gun with an “adjudication withheld”? (1998- attempted lewd exhibition in presence of under 16 y/o. A third degree felony.
Thank you!
I lived in Florida for almost 20 yrs on the hit list, like you , I had Adjudication with-held, yes, you CAN own/posses a fire arm in that case.
I had only 1 run in with a detective over this, an anonymous call ” sex offender with a gun “, I told the detective it was a moot point whether or not I owned any fire arms as I had Adj. withheld, he pulled up court records, apologized for not looking at them in the first place and for wasting my time. , if you do chose to own a fire arm, make sure you have your court papers printed out and handy, just incase
Thank you. Question- did you have problems with the criminal check and approval process? Or possibly you may have already owned the firearm.
I already owned mine, gave it to a relative to hold until I was off of probation. I don’t see how you could be turned down, but if you are, you could always appeal and submit you court paperwork, or buy from an individual, you are not a felon if adj w/h. when I check the FDLE website my DC # is gone and I have ” NO criminal record” but still show up in NCIC
Of course, I’m not a lawyer, but I believe so. I am also withheld, but when I tried to buy a gun a couple of years ago, the state still hadn’t approved the purchase with the licensed dealer after a two month period. So, I canceled the sale. I will likely attempt a purchase again soon. If it’s still not approved, I’ll be confident enough to buy a gun from an individual whose not required to get govt approval first.
Someone should post the home address of the DeSoto county Sheriff AND his children’s school so he can feel the wrath of a picketing mob.
The Democrats in DC have said that’s perfectly fine by them.
CR
I do not agree with putting his kids in danger, they didn’t do anything to us, the Sheriff did. So I do not agree with that. Just my 2 cents worth.
But a protest in front of the Sheriff’s house would be fun and our legal right. Although I am sure that would send of the wrath of God from the sheriff’s tactical response team.
You have a good idea. But what we need to do is, say once a week call a few Senators, etc. We can not vote, so we need to express our views some how. There are 78K on Florida’s registry. Given how many are out of state or dead , that brings it down to 2K, lol. This would not be in a attempt to clog out there phone linessss, sorry darn cough of mine. Or even call the sheriffs office etc. We need a call action page.
There is nothing godly about persecuting law-abiding citizens trying to rebuild their lives after serving their debt. That kind of wrath comes from somewhere else, and it will be dealt with in God’s time.
Just checked their Facebook page (DCSO) and it appears that the comments talked about were removed.
No they are still there. Actually there are two posts next to each other, one with six comments and one with 90 plus comments.
Baseball bats (Aluminum)
Steel pipe
Piece of sharpened rebar
Wasp spray and a lighter
A 5 foot link of heavy chain
A guard dog that will protect its owner to the death
Pitch fork
Battery acid
The list goes on, of everyday items we can legal own and would be on my list if someone got into my house. In fact, they may never been found once entering our house illegally and with ill intent.
Media outlets in the area have been notified of this posting. Hopefully someone will pick up this story.
If you can afford it I highly recommend one of the Guardian Breed of dogs Rottweiler Doberman Cane Corso German Shepherd and the always faithful Pitbull Terrier if you can get one or more of these do so I know when a car passes my house and they can’t tell you it’s not allowed because that may trigger another constitutional challenge
Last year I received a very explicit threat, and I reported it to the Sheriff’s Office. Their response is I brought it upon myself. My response was if a vigilante shows up at my doorstep, I am calling for a coroner, not a cop. Someone is leaving my home in a bodybag, either me or the vigilante. I will do whatever I have to do to defend myself. End of story.

The link above is In response to today’s FAC update.
The comments alone give me reasons to fear for my life with a mob mentality like that. How can the dozens of people literally threaten the same thing and this be ok? Wouldn’t freedom of speech not be protected if it’s a threat of harm to someone, such as being done? So very say how twisted and evil the minds people are when they feel it’s justifiable behavior. What a world we live in.
Absolutely effing horrifying. Based on their comments they have no right to judge.
I am appalled at how hateful the state has become, the increased violence, robberies and murders. The Covid was a passover to a more violent and unforgiving world. I saw cop cars running in packs well before the increase in traffic started this year. They were anticipating and most likely looking forward to the extra jobs and funding they were about to recieve. It’s disgusting and IS a disgusting line of work for a lot of unecessarily funded departments. How can you be on “probation by cop?” Truly unconstitutional in the worst possible way
Edward
Not sticking up for the police, but they did not write the laws. However, it seems they keep it open to interpretation on what role their enforcement and harassment towards those not on probation they can get away with.
I called FDLE and was told there is no law stating they have to place flyers on my door when I am not home in big letters “Sex offender”. I have repeatedly told the officer that hanging that on my door is not going to get my address confirmation out of the way any faster. Maybe call me on my cell instead to set up a meeting? My probation officer always did that and it made things much easier for both of us.
Scarlet letter placed on my door whenever, God forbid I am not home and now he has to keep coming back time and again until I am home. Like they say on the show Shark Tank, “There’s gotta be a better way”!
The idea that law enforcement can’t do anything because it is just a threat ,is wrong. In the Kansas City area yesterday a high school age person made a threat to another student on line just insinuating he would bring a weapon to school to settle the problem was arrested and is still in jail awaiting the investigation. They can take immediate action if they want to.
If you want to know why the cops won’t do anything to protect us, you need to understand that many of them probably feel the exact same way as the perpetrator and the flocks of those who commented in support of his actions. We will get no sympathy or help from them. Our safety is ours alone to defend, and that is not a helpless position. There are things we can do and many here and on the article’s original site have some great suggestions. Legal protections may eventually come, but we don’t need to become a victim in the meantime.
My God.. just read at the bellow comment from the FB page..

And not that I can speak of someone’s intentions, but in my heart, I believe these people (I call them that lightly) that write words like that, would stand over our bodies as we lay dying and laugh and taunt us until our last breath.
The same type of people back in past use to drag black people behind their cars until they bled to death. And to think, they call us monsters.
If one of our victims came after us, it would make a lot of sense, but these are people who mostly have never met us and have zero connections to us, they just want a chance to hurt someone. And with the ostracization we receive, few if any would even shed a tear for us other than maybe our families.
I have been a victim of vigilantes numerous times since being on the registry all these years. I got not one iota of sympathy from law enforcement. In one case was actually told that I bought it upon myself for being a pervert. So much for professionalism in law enforcement.
However I even experienced that when I was a L.E.O. The clicks run deep, almost like a secret society. I could write a book on all the secrets I could expose but would probably regret it and there would be severe consequences for myself and my family. And now would be even more so being on the registry, plus would automatically discredited as a wacko looking to take down the police.
CherokeeJ…
Write the Book!
I would absolutely obtain a pen name and a ghostwriter along with a publication attorney….split the profits 50/50!
title could be ‘An American Indian Exposes the Deep Secrets of The LEO Society’
(…ah, but you could not use American Indian cause they will know who it is….HA!)
Probably won’t affect us since we are not a “protected class”, but we can dream right?
“Vice President Harris launches online harassment task force”.
https://www.aol.com/news/biden-administration-launch-online-harassment-122638297.html
That initiative is geared towards preventing LGBT youth suicides while that sheriff is attempting to do the exact opposite.
To: Facts
Yes I am aware my friend, I was just saying, everyone, every class, every type etc. of human has some sort of protections except us. Even when we are attacked, law enforcement just shrugs and says “You should have thought of that before acting out your perversions”.
In other words, a huge chunk of the population would celebrate if all of us were eliminated. And once that happens, some who applauded that, will commit a sex offense then see what it feels like being us.
31 years since my offense and yet I am not allowed to move on. This even though I have not had so much as a parking ticket since. And I know I am not alone. Yes a slim few do not learn their lesson and can’t control themselves, but not everyone is the same, even though we are ALL treated them same. Doesn’t matter if you looked at a photo once online or kidnapped 50 kids, they lump us all together.
It’s very dangerous to assume all registered citizens cannot or do not own firearms. If their charges were adjudicated, once they finish probation, they might have their rights back; and that includes firearm ownership.
A withhold of adjudication would not take away firearm or voting rights, but a restoration of civil rights would not. There is a separate category for restoration of civil rights with firearm.
Would-be assailants can safely assume that felony sex offenders have not had their gun rights restored by the state of Florida. That’s one reason the registry is a threat to public safety.
I’m not sure I read your reply correctly, both are “nots”.
According to my lawyer on the day of sentencing, if I successfully complete probation, my rights are restored. I am not a convicted felon, just a registered felon.
Of course I cannot buy any new firearms nor can I get my CWP for 4 years following completion of my probation.
That’s my understanding.
Safety of myself in my home and my family is a primary concern I have. Once off probation in 2013 I called the sheriff in Volusia to find out options. I was able to own a paintball gun, and Airsoft. Ghost pepper paintballs are a thing. Luckily it’s not come to it yet. I encourage everyone to do due diligence, but also be safe.
I see FAC censorship is still active. Ty for once again not allowing one of my posts to this forum, why I don’t post anymore only browse. So I’m done here, good luck to everyone, I will be praying for you.
Your lighter fluid and match comment? We’ve been censoring everyone’s similar comments. This is not the forum for that.
You do censor political comments (that are in no way threatening), but only from one side.
I’m not complaining, but I also had a comment not get published. I’m not sure if it was inappropriate or not. It was simply stating it was legal for me to purchase a black powder pistol here in Michigan, and that I did so. It was not meant to advocate violence, just confirmation that we can own black powder rifles and pistols so long as they cannot be readily modified to fire a conventional round. Federal law does not classify a black powder pistol or rifle as a firearm, and Michigan allows felons to own them. Other states may not, so check your State’s laws.
If I violated any rules, I do apologize.
Disgusted
Black powder is neat but you better be a really good shot. You only get one chance.
Truth
Agree , I boxed and wrestled when in school and was offered scholarships to do it. Though decided not to pursue it further. If you lose your temper you will lose the fight.
DavidM…mine is a cap and ball revolver that holds 6 rounds, so only having one shot is not always true. Hopefully I will never have to use it. And true, being a good shot is important, along with safety.
Disgusted
I am getting no straight answers from attorneys about an ex-felon “Living” with someone who owns a gun. One said you do not own it so yes. Another told me you cannot live in the same house as someone who owns a gun because you can possibly get ahold of it.
Both told me they have defended people charged with possession of a firearm as a felon, even though they never touched the gun. Just being in the same household of someone with a gun, was considered a crime. Very confusing.
A few years ago I took a friend to the store. He was in my vehicle that I owned at the time, when we got out, his shirt snagged and I saw his concealed weapon. I never said anything to him but never offered him a ride again as, being in my car with a firearm made me vulnerable to arrest. The gun was in MY vehicle, albeit, in his possession.
There are so many traps and lose ended laws, it is a wonder every one of us has not been re-arrested.
Sentinel
I complained to FAC in the past because they were allowing death threats against us. They stated they allowed them for two reasons. No one was named individually, and secondly wanted people too see what threats we get.
Our post about weapons we could use to protect ourselves while not naming any person by name, merely stating “If we were attacked. And yet we get censored. Sort of hypocritical. Having said that, I won’t quit coming here over it but is very disturbing how it only applies to one side.
I don’t own or run the site so have little to no say on what they print or don’t print. And I am not ashamed to say how I would protect myself and my family at “ALL” cost. The other side is looking to kill us without even knowing us. Yet when they come for us, guess we are supposed to cower down? I think not. Not all of us on the registry are pacifist.
Sentinel…
Most of Us are filled with range and anger,,,,for example, in my conviction I do not have a real victim…it was made up!
I was sentenced to 10 yr SO probation and then I was technically violated—even more Outrage….then sent to Florida Prison….
We are all pissed off!…Trust Me….But, what I have finally realized is that there is only way to redress the madness!…Is to fight with a non-hatred mindset….rid the evilness and spit it out in your own sink….then fight with a better concentration!
seems trivial, but it may work for you!
…physically exercise if you are able and keep few friends!
Very well said. We have to be better than the ones spewing hateful, dehumanizing comments and advocating violence against us. Any false steps on our part only intensifies the vitriole.
As a Registered Citizen I am incensed by things like the Sheriff’s Facebook post. We all deal with state & local ordinances and other issues like this one. We constantly read about people seeking mob justice for people that they find on the state or federal registry.
I am equally mad, incensed, pissed off by some of the comments that we, Registered Citizens, make in response. C’mon people, when we respond with absolutely asinine comments about dogs or baseball bats or black powder we are no better than the idiots that respond to the posts like the Desoto Sheriff’s posting.
If we EVER expect to see any change in our lives we CAN NOT live DOWN to the public’s perception or expectations.
The ONLY way we can beat them is to live above them.
Roger,
I can understand your anger at the sheriff, but I don’t comprehend your anger towards some of our comments. We have a right to live and to live in peace with our neighbors. We all have been judged by a court of law and have paid our debt to society, hence vigilantes have no right to threaten any of us with harm or death. Our sentences were imposed and served.
I want to live in peace and get along with everyone, but if someone threatens my life, or the lives of my family simply because I am on the registry, then you better believe that I will defend myself and my family to the full extent that the law allows, up to and including deadly force if someone confronts me with a weapon. That is my right.
I really don’t see comments about having a dog or some type of weapon available as asinine comments. Most people here cannot own any conventional weapons so they have to use what’s legally available to protect themselves. Hopefully no one here will ever find themselves in a bad situation, but if they do, then they gotta do what they gotta do.
Lets direct that anger towards the sheriff and others who would instigate harm to us by voicing our concerns to them. I’ve already been flooding his office phone line with calls and have asked friends to do the same.
Disgusted
Concerning “Up to what the law allows”? When it comes to my family, all bets, rules, laws etc. are off the table. There is “Nothing” I wouldn’t do to protect my family from a-holes who wish us harm. That includes getting sent back to prison or being killed myself. You just DONT mess with my family period!
I would hope that goes for anyone. Have you ever watched a bear, or any animal for that matter when something is trying to eat, harm, harass or get too close to their babies? I am Papa bear, Mama bear and Yogi bear all wrapped into one when it comes to the safety of those I love.
Cherokee Jack, here in Michigan, we have a “stand your ground” law, meaning we do not have to retreat if confronted by someone who would attempt to harm or kill us. Basically, if I am in my home and someone kicks down my door and brandishes a weapon, I can use deadly force to defend myself. It doesn’t mean I can beat his brains out with a baseball bat, because the law states one cannot go too far. So there is a very fine line that must not be crossed. Basically you can’t keep kicking a guy when he’s already down. That’s what I meant but “up to what the law allows”. One can fight back with deadly force to protect life, but not property.
I just hope to God I will never find myself in that kind of situation because I would rather not have to hurt anyone.
Disgusted,
You have a point but we can make our points publicly in a dignified way rather than simply rolling around in the mud which some people unfortunately have done.
It would be better if anyone who happens to fall across comment sections like that finds himself or herself thinking “Gee, those registrants and their supporters sound like really swell people, the kind of people I’d like to have over my house. The other lot sounds like a bunch of maniacs.”
You don’t need to disavow self-defense. It’s just not necessary to foam at the mouth when bringing it up.
Dennis
Have you had your house shot at? I have thrice.
Have you ever had your house broken into? I have once
Have you ever had your vehicle broken into and/or vandalized? I have more times than I can count and have stopped even calling the police.
Have you had your windows broken by kids who were told by their parents “That guy in that house is the boogey man, so stay away”. I have
I could go on and on but the public does not like us. Not because we have a record but for two things. The public registry and more recently nextdoor. The registry unless you are required to give notifications, is more passive. Nextdoor aggressively informs your neighbors of your presence and continues to on a regular basis.
These otherwise normal neighbors start forming groups to get rid of us, and before you know it, you cannot walk out your front door without being called a name, having a rock thrown at you, finding graffiti on house, car etc.
The more we accept that and not do anything about it, the more the mobs will burn us at the stake. I have a family to protect and I am darn well not going to back down until they do. My grandson has to go to a private school just so the kids at public school do not beat him up because he lives with an EX sex offender.
My charges are from 31 years ago. Give a guy a break. I have not been charged with a single thing before that day nor since. I have been off of probation for almost 20 years now. What more can I say?
Meanwhile there are break-ins in our neighborhood and they don’t rally together to stop that. But someone who has lived here longer than them and has done nothing to them gets bashed 24/7, 7 days a week on social media that I/we are banned from.
And yes, I have several neighbors who I am friends with. We do not sit around talking about my past, we help each other and are just that, neighborly neighbors.
You make a very good point, Dennis. I’m a very laid back, peaceful guy, but when confronted or threatened, I tend to go off the deep end and act before I think. I don’t like fighting, but will if I have no other options. I’d much rather avoid those kinds of situations if I can. There have been many circumstances where I look back and see I could have handled it in a different way. As they say, hind sight is always 20/20.
True, there are a lot of people not on the registry who probably read these forums, and if we want to be perceived as decent people, we need to rise above the slime and mud.
Reading stories like this really gets my goat. Even the most heinous offender does not deserve threats of harm from vigilantes because he already received his punishment from the court of law and no one has the right to add to it. I try to look at crimes as all being the same, and no one who breaks the law is better than someone else. Why should a registrant who had consensual relations with an under age girl be perceived as worse than someone who sold drugs to kids? Or someone who had too many drinks and got behind the wheel and severely injured or killed another driver?
We need to change the public’s opinions of us that we are not the Boogeyman lurking in the bushes waiting to snatch up their children.
As my handle states, I am just plain disgusted with all of it.

It, is, perhaps, about the delivery of their message that concerns you!…I would think that 99..9% of the people who respond on here would never hurt a soul, other than the squirrel that eats their cable/internet line!
Bon Appetite!

I respect you brother. Having said that, these creeps need to know that some of us do not just lay down and take it. I was bullied my entire life and one day, I stood up for myself when I was about 14 and literally knocked the teeth out of the bullies mouth. I cried all the way home but I can tell you, no one at school ever messed with me again.
And, I am a loving, peaceful man. I love God, Family and Country in that order. But each of us has to do what we have to do. All of my family members all the way back to the civil war have been in the military. I make no threats to anyone, just a warning to those who come after us. Basically, leave us alone and we will leave you alone. Come after us, and we ALL will regret it in some form or fashion.
For me I am neither a pacifist nor an aggressor. But I can be either depending on the situation. But most of the time, I am like Canada, I try and stay neutral. But even Canada if attacked, is not going to lay down and surrender.
Since the local sheriff is providing official government speech using Facebook, Facebook is now a news outlet providing official government communication and therefore, although I am not a lawyer, it appears you have the legal right to receive this official government communication.
While I don’t hardly post on here and when I do it seems it doesn’t meet the rating of FAC. Guess Facebook ratings are a bit more of a thumbs up or is Florida and all other states in bad shape with this registry with views and comments of others. Now I’m not about to jump on Florida Action Committee as we are all in this to press on for truth and justice and FAC can do what they want.
Sure myself as well as Cherokee bring a bit of gospel or Good News to others but at times it just seems to go in one ear and out the other for many. Yes the bible talks about fear no evil. It also talks about temptations and is a book of knowledge or is foresight better than hindsight… Say what? Oh yes and the bible is also about all types of issues and yes it does bring comfort to many. If one has a problem the bible has an answer.
Sure comments are good if they are constructive but a man has to know their limits or where are human rights today?
Cherokee, Roger, Dennis and many more on here. Seems like many are playing with their hindsight. Talking about dogs, barbed wire, noisy neighbors, Facebook charter, gossip and many issues that seem unproductive. Seems like everyone wants their cake and eat it too.. Seems like many are looking for protection from invasions of authorities when many should be looking for ways to end as much of this registry in a constructive manner for all.
Is Florida a disgrace as in many other states with this sex registry ordeal that has many paranoid to their own limits. Isn’t FAC still about truth and justice or is something wrong with a blue and red house map on Facebook. What is Facebook but a gossip column for fools and/or idiots. Is facebook the gospel of internet disruption or some pride of life excuse to compound another.
Sounds like many of you all posting on here are ready to orchestrate some blood and gut revenge which would be a downfall for all. Guess nobody heard of love your enemy or love thy neighbor. The registry is not an easy fix but all things are possible with the right measures.
The only people who should possess information about ‘dangerous people’ are the ones that society has selected to protect them: Police departments.
Nobody else should ever have access to this information because many people are too f*king stupid understand that not everyone on the registry is a monster.
Please Call and/or Message these f*ing heartless idiots:

I agree with Joe that only law enforcement should have access to RSOs personal and address information.
But I can attest that many cops are too f*cking stupid to know that we’re NOT all monsters. OR they enjoy being able to do anything to us without repercussions.
