Florida GOP Chair being investigated for sex assault

The Chair of the Florida Republican Party is being investigated for a sex assault of an adult.   Christian Ziegler, R-Sarasota, was alleged to have been engaged in a consensual three-some until it was no longer consensual.  At some point, one participant believed the acts no longer reflected consent and was cited in a heavily redacted police report as describing them as “rape.”  This is early in an investigation that involves multiple people with multiple stories and multiple experiences.

Regardless, someone seems seriously aggrieved and the claims merit investigation.

It is hoped the individual is fully heard and understood and authorities act without regard to the position of others involved.  This is a tragic situation that requires seriousness to understand what happened as the future of several lives are at stake and since it involves justice.

Governor Ron DeSantis has called for Ziegler’s resignation.

This story broke yesterday afternoon.  It was picked up by national news sources quickly.  Early Friday morning, a review of The Capitolist and FloridaPheonix, two websites that specifically cover Florida politics, Tallahassee and the comings and goings of powerbrokers across the State had no coverage of the story on their front landing pages.  A later review, had some coverage of the story that the Governor requested Ziegler’s resignation.

I hope a true investigation happens, if that person is found innocent then the accuser needs prison time as we all know the public opinion will destroy a life. If that person is guilty then should pay the price, didn’t florida pass a law that states a person of power commits a crime that the penalty will be worse than a average citizen. Why has no cops, politicians or lobbyists every got worse sentences but instead basically a slap on the wrist. Every day we all deal with ex post facto or whatever it is and I also say double jeopardy everything they keep adding more and more punishment unto us.

A so-called consensual three-way doesn’t sound like Republican values to me especially when he ran on that platform. What about his anti-gay wife surely this is a big slander piece right? More politicians living under say as I do, don’t do as I do. I don’t understand why people take these people seriously, If their lips are moving, they are lying that goes for both sides of the aisle.

Then, when his wife cofound the Mom for liberty Group which seeks to expand don’t say gay bill targeting gays trying to marginalize their rights. News to you, lady, lesbian still falls into being gay you dumb pos. Again just more people in power acting like they are better than you. Remember those who usually yell the loudest at something are the ones trying to cover their tracks again why the fascination with targeting something that you represent? And as a politician who runs on family values regardless if the rape happened or not he should not have put your self in that situation now you have to explain to your constituents why a consensual three way relationship is not an issue for them and your campaign.
