What can the sex offender registry do?

By Sandy Rozek

“Derek Lawson, registered in Arizona as a sexual offender due to a conviction in 1984 in California, is required by law to register any address where he stays three or more days a month.

“He stayed at the home of Peoria, Arizona’s City Council’s deputy chief, Denette Dunn, ‘intermittently throughout the past year.’

“He did not register her address.

“Mayor Jason Beck and the city council have asked Ms. Dunn to resign her position as deputy chief as her relationship with Lawson has ‘breached public trust’ and ‘depicts behavior that does not uphold the standards of conduct we expect from our public servants.’

“Then other information is – almost reluctantly – given.”

Greetings, just looking for opinions or answers.
How many times per month is it legal for the SO come to my house and interrogate me on my front porch. I understand the Home check. but they are going way past that lately.

Jast as when I was targeted in 2011 for simply tryinjg to OUOT a person trying to pimp a nonb existant son.

In the past 45 days the SO has come to my home 3 times.
1st time was Home check. @nd time was the so and a supposed Pastor trying to inform my room mate about her brothers death in winter park. On that occasion the officer and the PASTOR pushed their way into my home with no warrant.

The last visit was 2 guys who said they were with Volusia SO and said the were with another program contracted by DeBary city. They asked all linds of question about vehicles that I do not own and People whom do not live here.

Since I do not keep an attourney at my home how do I counter this abuse.

Most members of the Studio City Neighborhood Council resigned last month after the group unanimously voted to appoint a convicted sex offender to fill a vacancy on their board.

“People were concerned for their own reputations,” Clements said, noting that she works at a family-run investment firm and wouldn’t want to be seen “rubbing elbows with a convicted sex offender.” She and others also said they weren’t comfortable being on a board with King because the neighborhood council has a youth member and routinely hosts events with children.
