Update on RTAG Trip to Washington DC
The following were notes from Registrant Travel Action Group (RTAG – registranttag.org) trip to Washington, D.C.
On November 14th, traveled to DC with the following objectives:
- Meet with congressional staff representatives on the foreign services and judicairy committees to present a white paper and initial results of registrant travel experiences subsequent to the establishment of the Angel Watch Center and implementation of International Megan’s Law (IML).
- Establish representatives in place who will represent RTAG and other groups as required to achieve our goals.
- Â Â Meet with appropriate Embassy staff personnel at the Mexican, Filipino, and Thai
Embassies.
- Â Potentially connect with human rights organizations whom are DC based.
Results:
- We were able to meet with 15 staff members to present our white paper and our results of registering travel. Â Â We are attempting face to face for another trip. Â Â Here some of the representative offices:

-  We have a team establish.  I want to organize their efforts better before we  pass on
names.
- Â We only had time meet with the Mexican Embassy. Â I will send a separate email to discuss
this. Â Â We must establish communication with other embassies.
-  There is much  more work to done the Human Rights aspect of our efforts.
There was a lot that was discussed in our efforts. Â I will try to do a tel-econ in the future.
