Tampa man who was first to face trial for Florida voter fraud in 2020 election gets probation
A Hillsborough County man who has a past sex offense was the first person in Florida to face trial on charges of voter fraud. The jury came up with a split verdict: guilty of false affirmation, but not guilty of voting as an unqualified elector.
The false information: Potential voters must swear, under penalty of perjury, that they are not a felon, or if they are, that their rights have been restored. The forms do not clarify that there are subgroups that do not get automatic restoration of their rights. (flcourier.com)
The Hillsborough County registered citizen said, “Even if I were able to vote, I probably would stop at this point. I’m very disillusioned with the system.” (wtsp.com)
And now he is forever ineligible for registry removal in Fl.
He’s certainly not the only one…
I am a US citizen, a taxpayer, a 29-year military veteran, and a registered citizen in Florida for a failure of character 24 years ago after I watched my wife die. My daughter was the target of the failure and for that moment of lapse I am forever sorry. I paid my debt to society, was released from probation 11 years early, and have reconciled with my daughter who now lives with her family here in Brevard County. We have an excellent relationship. I am no longer on the registry in Virginia where my failure happened. Yet, I am on the registry in Florida where I cannot vote. Go figure!
I hope he does appeal and he wins to have it thrown out. It is BS. The Gov is making a mockery of the system and using it as a bully pulpit for his own image. This is entrapment in these folks are being told they can vote by the system and letting them go through with them wanting to do the right thing before given them a “gotcha”.
Restore their voting rights!!
