Suspects accused of having sex in Cincinnati parks after police sting

An undercover sting operation by Cincinnati Police has resulted in multiple arrests of people accused of having sex in city parks.

Mt. Airy Forest was targeted by the sting due to the high number of people engaging in sexual acts there over the last few years, according to Fraternal Order of Police President Sgt. Dan Hils.

“Don’t come to our city parks and engage in this behavior,” Hils said. “This is a quality of life issue.”

Police have video of the arrests, but Hils says the department decided against releasing them after an overture from city hall.

The prosecutions will proceed, according to Mayor Aftab Pureval.

“But I’ve been very clear,” Pureval said in a prepared statement, “that given the historic rise in gun violence in our community, our sources should be specifically targeted at preventing and prosecuting violent crime and that we should look for opportunities to cite nonviolent offenses to court rather than directing resources towards shaming people or jailing nonviolent offenders.”

Those like Walt Hitchens understand why the city might not want to publicize the videos.

Hitchens says he’s frequented Mt. Airy Forest for years without ever encountering people having sex.

Was the police president sgt. referring to his parents when he stated, “ this is a quality of life issue.” I mean his parents procreated making him which is affecting the quality of life in Cincinnati. Why have stings on a problem that doesn’t happen frequently and focus on gun violence as well as violent crimes.? Is a couple engaged in sex at park the cities biggest fear? Sounds like fear tactics for funding.

A sting for people having sex in a city park? How does that work with LE? Are they trying to entice people to have sex with them in the park? Is it a challenge bet for others to have sex in the park? Doesn’t a sting involve LE participation or someone who’ll act for them to make it stick? Isn’t watching people commit crimes a stakeout? This sounds shady at best and any video will give away their entire deal to the masses, IMO.

    “Quality of life”!!! Ahahahahaha!
Ok, Mr Hils. Like you never did this same thing in your generation as a late teen/young adult. Spare us the bs. I bet you giggle at the mention of “inspiration point” in episodes of “HAPPY DAYS”, though, right?

And now all these people will end up on the SOR and be referred to as “pEdOpHiLeS” by the goodie-two-shoes of this country. Because this is exactly what the SOR was created for. Good job!

I hope people “multiple arrests” can be as few as two. By using the word multiple and not releasing video, police allow people to use their imaginations to come up with a guess on what “multiple arrests” equates to and I promise it is more than were arrested.

Another self promotion scheme. We need better and better educated Attorneys. They are ill prepared and uneducated in defending these type of cases. Especially since the judges are biased to start with.
