Registered sex offender shot to death when answering knock at door

The Sabine Parish Coroner has released the identity of a man shot to death when answering the door.

The body of 72-year-old Jerry Wayne Scott was found in the doorway at his home in the 1300 block of Matthews Lodge Road in Many on Saturday morning, according to Sabine Parish Assistant Coroner Ron Rivers.

Rivers said that Scott’s body was found lying face up on the living room floor of his mobile home.

It is believed that Scott went to answer a knock at the front door of the home when an unknown gunman fired a single shot through the storm door.

The gunshot hit Scott in the upper chest, killing him instantly.

Investigators are treating the incident as a hate crime. Scott was a registered sex offender in the state of Louisiana.

I am so sorry to hear this – how frightening and sad. Is treating this type of crime as a hate crime something new? I had not heard of that before but I am glad to hear it.

Since all sex offender “laws” are based on and motivated by HATE is really is NICE to see it put in print for once!

The motives of politicians and law enforcement are clear – create a group to project disgust and hate onto. We are the chosen people.

The right to keep and bare arms is an unalienable right, according to The US Constitution, which has been anything but unalienable even those who served to defend the Constitution and have been convicted of a felony. Straight garbage!

It should be a hate crime, just as any other group of people who are selected because of hate towards all sex offenders… regardless of the factors of the offense. I fear the day when my co-workers learn to hate me because of a bad choice…not for the person who has gained their respect today as a trusted peer.

This is not really news for those of us living our lives on the “hit list” as this is a daily potential scenario always in our minds!

The stress that we live with every moment with the constant fear of harm and even death is something that the average citizen does not understand and will never understand.

This barbaric treatment of American citizens must stop!

This could’ve been an innocent child answering the door so tell me how is this unconstitutional law is protecting children?

I guess the children of those on this damn list are not seen as equal to other children!
