NY: Governor Signs Moratorium on Facial Recognition in State Schools

This is something we wrote about earlier and has been a concern. The Lockport Central School District of NY had installed an “AEGIS facial recognition system” consisting of cameras placed throughout schools in the District. They claimed that the system would be used to identify sex offenders and other “unauthorized” people.

Advocacy groups and civil rights organizations pushed back and finally the Governor agreed to impose a moratorium on the use of the technology until July of 2022 so that its use can be studied before just putting it out there. “Facial recognition technology could provide a host of benefits to New Yorkers, but its use brings up serious and legitimate privacy concerns that we have to examine, especially in schools,” Governor Cuomo said.

Thanks to those of you who voiced your concerns and helped get this tabled.

Facial recognition is not 100% fool proof. What happens when the “Wrong” person gets slammed to the ground because they LOOK like someone on the registry?

Facial recognition works very well even when you wear a hat and glasses, but it cannot beat the covid mask….i will be wearing one in public even when the epidemic is past.

      Watch you back…….

As A Kindly Reminder, Facial Recognition Technology is Solely Relied on by Algorithms; The Fault Factor is Higher with African-Americans, than with any other Ethnicity!

It is a Proven Fact; Even Like a System like ‘Clear’ in the Airports has a False Factor Rate of 87% with regard to African Americans…it is A Fact

Darker Pigmentation of Skin Color, is a Conundrum with Such Systems!

    A FACT!

Are the people pushing this the same who object to individuals presenting identification when voting? Why would someone want such intrusive measures in one aspect and none in another? Because both responses serve the agenda…That is control.

The schools and the military are the easiest place to inject communist ideology and methods of control. These audiences are captive.

The trick is to desensitize the average person into believing that it’s ok to take someone’s rights away (and therefore their dignity and value). That’s why they will use sex offenders to scare everyone else.

More… and more creative ways, to continue legal and social punishment.

So many teachers committing sex crimes on students. How will this technology prevent it? What a joke. Waste of money but that’s okay with the school officials. Maybe the tech company secretly returns the favor for the big contract… Wouldn’t doubt it.

I get an invitation from my daughter school pre covid-19. It said (all) dads come have breakfast with your kid.. So I went down to go in and they had those ID checks you swipe your ID. So It wouldn’t really matter in Florida anyway. I didn’t make it past the ID check at the front desk before I was told to go no further. Im not a loud or hostile person. But eventually had to tell the principal and her minion to Kiss my ass. Then proceeded to take my daughter out of school and went shopping and hung out at the mall all day with her. I didn’t let them ruin the time I promised my daughter. They called me and expressed there displeasure with me pulling my daughter out if school all day because of not being able to eat breakfast with her. So I expressed my displeasure with there discrimination and explained to them if I wanted there opinion I would ask for it. So the facial recognition stuff would have been at best a secondary thing.

What a waste of money. How many RSO will be coming inside a school to commit an offense? Also, what about parents or care-takers who children or high schoolers go to school. How do they pick them up? Or will they be embarrassed when the police will be called upon them.
What if an RSO is just walking by to go to the store or another area because the school is in the path.
