As we’ve already come to know very well, it’s not the individuals on the sex offender registry who present the greatest risk of sexual abuse to children at their schools, but it’s their teachers.

The question is we that are on the registry know that iit is a very seldom ocurance that we reoffend and that most of us have grown and learned the damage that under age sex can cause the victim . How do you get the law makers to open their eyes to this ?
These case’s prove what we registered citizens already know…it’s not us that people should be worrying about. As my Prison Psychologist told ” my group”, that she don’t worry about us re-offending, she worries about those who have not been caught yet.
Is it time to set up a 1000 foot rule for teachers around schools?
Once again though I feel this is due to a change in overall society and not a change in human nature. What I mean is that when I was a teenager I went to several different high schools (military brat) and there was usually a student that had a brief fling with a young teacher. Most often a boy with a female teacher and it was actually looked on as a sign of the young man’s sexual prowess. I am not advocating this behavior but all I am saying is that for decades this was not a crime of gigantic proportions like it is in today’s society. The War on Sex has made it such. And we are all victims and veterans of that war.
When I was in high school I had a young homeroom teacher. Had she made a pass at me I would have felt myself fortunate. It’s amazing how we, as a society, can twist situations around and make victims where at one time there were no victims. There are “experts” today who make a living out of convincing people that they are perpetual victims. In fact, with the best of intentions, they are destroying lives, families, and potential for good. May God have mercy on them…they will need it.
