IN: ‘We don’t want you here’: Sheriff says over 1,800 sex offenders live in Marion Co., 52% aren’t from here

There are more than 1,800 sexual or violent offenders living in Marion County, more than half of which were convicted and sentenced from out-of-area, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

As part of the office’s efforts to drive down the number of sex offenders in the community, the sheriff’s office conducted a sweep Wednesday morning near Brookside Park.

How gullible is WRTV? They admitted having 1,800 registrants in the county and did not attempt to interview even ONE. They just let the sheriff do all the talking while they nodded their heads.

    Gullible or lazy or both?

Corrupt media and corrupt law enforcement go hand in hand – They support each other in manipulation of facts and go right to manipulating FEELINGS. Facts…who needs them when we have our feelings! HAHAHA

‘We don’t want him here, either,’ said the 1,800 families.

So, the Sherriff is TARGETING S.O.’s for “EXISTING” in the county lines. Wasn’t there a statute they expressly made it unlawful to utilize the registry to “target” S.O.’s for existing… …

More political theater in an election year at registrant’s expense. Give us back our franchise and we’ll show you who is REALLY not wanted here. Glad this isn’t in Florida but it still happens. “Law & Order” politicians…

Nice to see that the source article implied that a registrant was responsible for the murder of a woman. I’m waiting for registrants to be blamed for monkeypox. Badly written article fawning adulation to the sheriff’s office.

I guess the people are saying that government is registering too many of us. I’ll bet if fewer were required to register, the people would feel more secure that they’re not surrounded by so much danger.

@ RayO: I had a similar solution: if there are too many registrants for [their] liking, then UN-REGISTER some of them!! That will bring the numbers down and, once again, peace and love will return to the people of happy, quiet valley. LOL 😂😁

As I have heard many, many times by my poc at the registration office it is not the place of the officer to translate the law, it IS their place to enforce the law. SO, what gives this Sheriff permission to now become a translator? Why did the media just take the Sheriffs comments as the only side to be represented? Just another lazy reporter. Half a story (or less).

Sure glad these registry’s aren’t penal…. If they were like penal you would like uhm go to prison or something if you didn’t follow them.
I always find it interesting that the USA never stopped slavery or segregation.. They just kept rebranding them and changing the victims until they were able to create groups the majority could approve of.. Anyone who has worked for peanuts in the prison slave labor camps and factory’s knows slavery still exists and anyone on the registry knows what jim crow and sun down laws are ..personally…

Hoosier hospitality doesn’t seem so hospitable does it. The author of this article is dumb dumb dumb. No research no real facts no details . Only hype and false accusations. It’s not worth my time to go further.
