Former Bureau of Prisons Correctional Officer Sentenced to 24 Months In Federal Prison For Sexually Abusing Inmates

Phillip Golightly, 39, of Quincy, Florida, was sentenced to 24-months in federal prison following his conviction for sexual abuse of a ward while on duty at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tallahassee. The sentence, following the defendant’s guilty plea on October 16, 2020, was announced by Jason R. Coody, Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

Court documents reflect that while employed as a U.S. Bureau of Prisons Correctional Officer, Golightly sexually assaulted female inmates who were then under his custodial, supervisory, and disciplinary authority at the Federal Correctional Institutions in Marianna and Tallahassee, Florida.

Pritchard was a member of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office DUI unit when he was arrested last year.

He’s a man of great privilege; while our mugs would be on the news 24/7. Breaking news a dangerous person is accused of not telling the government the color of his shirt and shorts. He’s on the list so make sure you check out your neighborhood at http://www.can’tmindmyownbusiness. Org/gov. You can be the next Karen, so do your part to save the children. Back to you Barbie and Ken.

I can see those reports happening across the country, but the higher ups are protected.

Maybe the ones in charge need to be the ones behind bars; while former felons watch them. I don’t think they could afford me and I wouldn’t want that job either.

When I was in prison one of new female guards brought drugs into the prison and bumped uglies with inmates. I’m not bashing female guards because I’m sure male guards do the same at female prisons.

It’s just like me, with no victim. And my roommate gets arrested and I go to get his car out of impound for him, so he doesn’t lose it. They see his car in my yard, where it’s been for a year and a half. But they got me when I drove it back to my house and locked it and put the keys up. I was just trying to save his car for him. I got arrested on August 19th and went to jail where I had two medical emergencies over night and two ekgs. I have to have another mri done to see what kind of damage this officer caused to my lower back because he wouldn’t move the cuffs to the front of me. I literally begged him to move them, because I have been having a series of spinal injections because of herniated discs and compression on the nerves. So now I can’t do the last set of infections until I have this other mri. I’m now using a cane for stability and I’m hoping that I don’t have to have surgery, because of this police officer. But they said that it will be hard to get a case against the police. There’s no money in it for the law firms. So I guess they can treat us any way they like. Thanks…Sam

What exactly did they arrest you for? I am confused? Not registering a car in your driveway?

In the meantime, I will keep your situation and your pain and health in my prayers.

Federal DOJ press releases normally exclude mugshots. Why read more into that?

People need to stop being placed in cells where all you learn is how to become a better criminal. Not everyone in prison belongs there; yet anything to fill up the pockets of the know betters. Funny the people in charge are the true criminals from politicians all the way down to law enforcement. Maybe those at the top need accountability and be held for their actions.
