Are you an older woman in a relationship with an incarcerated man?

Seeking Participants for a Research Study.  Pamela Desin is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Kentucky pursuing a PhD in Gerontology. Her research is on the lived experiences of older women in a relationship with an incarcerated man. She is seeking to interview women that meet the following criteria:
• You must be 50 years or older
• You must be in an existing relationship with a man who has been in federal prison for one year or more, and the relationship must have existed prior to incarceration
• You must have some form of contact with your incarcerated partner at least once per week

To participate in this study, please contact her directly by Email: pamela.desin@uky.edu; cell phone: 859.940.4216; or through a message on Facebook (Pammy Jean).

Pam is an advocate for criminal justice reform, especially for those labeled with a sex offense and/or on the registry, and understands that the grief of prisoners and their families is often disenfranchised. She has been involved (involuntarily) in the federal penal system for over five years; her husband is currently incarcerated in Yazoo City.

While pursuing her PhD, Pam also serves as the Vice President of United Voices for Sex Offense Reform (https://uv4sor.org/) and she is a member of several Facebook advocacy groups, serving as the administrator of two of them.

She has a Master’s degree in counseling, and her Bachelor and Associate degrees are in Human Relations and Human Services, respectively. Pam was lead author on a scholarly publication in the Journal of Gerontology and Geriatric research on the unmet needs of African-American dementia care providers.
