Anthony Weiner: Laws coming back to bite him in the a$$

As former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner’s criminal case is progressing through the courts, the government has announced they will be seeking jail time for Weiner, who engaged in sexually explicit texts with a 15 year old high school girl in order to solicit her for sex.

Weiner’s attorneys claim he’s now “reformed” and should not do time, but in a cosmic case of Karma, the prosecutors are citing co-sponsorship of a bill in January 2007 that requires sex offenders to register their email and instant message addresses with the National Sex Offender Registry.

Weiner will likely still get off (no pun intended) with a very light sentence of about 2 – 2 1/2 years (far less time than others who did far less than he did), but at least it’s good to see the lawmaker’s laws will come back to bite him.

    I really wish that both U.S. Rep Mark Foley (Florida’s 16th district) and Florida Rep Robert “Bob” Allen (32nd district) would have suffered more for their sexual antics. They both sponsored sex offender legislation.

      Ray,

      We are a nation of laws…unless you are one of the ones writing, passing, interpreting and enforcing them. Ironically, these pandering, fear-mongers should be hammered to the laws created by them to their fullest extent.

      Sadly, this is the state of what’s left of our alleged Constitutional Republic. My prayer is that FAC and other organizations will change this fact, and restore the notion that all are entitled to equality under the law.

      One way or another, we are all going to have to take back our “unalienable” rights. Pray this is peacefully accomplished.

    Wiener Wiener passed some laws;
    Wiener Wiener photo’d his balls;
    All Wiener’s whining, and all Wiener’s men
    Won’t Wiener’s law ever rescind.

    Serves the POS right. Hope he gets the full Monty treatment.

    It is really too bad that now that his eyes will be opened to the truth about these laws it is too late for him to help much – his credibility in DC will be nil
