Lauren Book Big Winner in State Funding
The Miami Herald reports, “Lauren’s Kids, a non-profit founded by Sen. Lauren Book, D-Plantation, to promote awareness of and to prevent sexual abuse against children, is eligible for $1 million from taxpayers. It is 1 of 13 projects sponsored by Rep. Jeanette Nunez, R-Miami, that are still alive. The lobbyist on the bill, Ron Book, is the senator’s father.” The report continues, “[Lauren’s Kids] will seek an additional $3 million to $10 million in public money in the next five years.”
Sadly, the Herald also reports that, “In a tight budget year, many projects won’t survive the upcoming weeks of legislative maneuvering.”
Ever heard of the term NEPOTISM?

If Hernando, and other counties, need additional funds….tell them to call Sen Lauren Book and ask her for some of the taxpayers money.

Funding for her and her father . Ron book is the director of her ineffective money grabbing family charity.This money should be used for a just and worthy cause. A cause with science behind it. Not the political hop on the bandwagon Sex offender punishments
Those of us who know the truth look at this and have to “almost” explode in a sickening fit of laughter. Two wrongs never make a right, and too many children will suffer needlessly, many more than any victims have suffered. How much longer will erroneous information and political gain be tolerated.
