W.A.R. Zoom Meeting – The Impact of the Registry on Moms
You are invited to join the WAR Room Zoom meeting Tuesday, August 13th.
8 PM ET — 7 PM CT — 6 PM MT — 5 PM PT
The speaker is Kimberly Ingold, a dynamic first-year Criminology Ph.D. student at the University of Iowa. Kimberly graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ball State University in 2022 with dual B.S. degrees in Psychological Science and Criminal Justice/Criminology. She continued her academic journey at Illinois State University, where she also graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2024 with an M.S. degree in Criminal Justice Sciences.
Kimberly’s passion for research is evident in her focus areas, which include queer victimization, violent offending, and sex offenses. Her dedication to these critical issues has already made an impact in the field.
During the meeting, Kimberly will present the compelling findings from her Master’s degree research, which examined the negative effects of the sex offense registry on mothers of people forced to register. She conducted a comprehensive survey to explore the emotional, social, and economic impacts on these mothers, shedding light on an often-overlooked aspect of the registry’s collateral damage
Kimberly will share the stories behind the data, discuss the implications of her findings, and explore how we can advocate for change. Her insights promise to spark a thoughtful and important conversation
