What kind of public pretender represented this guy. Why take a plea deal like that?
According to the article there are not any human contact victims. 35 years old and taking a plea for 45 years. What kind of negotiation was that?
Sad, I wonder if he realized after it was too late that he would be 80 and likely dead before he got out.

GEO owned Blackwater prison in Milton, FL is where I was sent to as well. I got in 2 fights while I was there. I’m sure they all stemmed from being looked up on cell phones or inmates having family and friends look us up over the phone. I was 39 at the time and in pretty descent shape with some descent street fighting and military training skills so I held my own. They pretty much left me alone after that. However, my charges wasn’t viewed by inmates as bad as the guy in this article. I’m sure one of the inmates done this. Blackwater wasn’t a joke. I seen so many stabbings there. Mostly gang on gang. This guy should’ve been in PC. There is also corruption at Blackwater. Where you have staff members and correctional officers bringing drugs, cell phones, and other contraband into the facility. They don’t or didn’t do metal detection when we leave the kitchen. Sometimes correctional officers seem to turn a blind eye to things they know are about to happen. I guess that goes for all prisons. Strange thing about this article is that they sent him to a prison right in the same county where his charges took place. Unless I misread that? Usually when you get sentenced to prison they send you far away from home to deter escaping.

Yeah 45 yrs is ridiculous. However, I just read that someone stated he had over 2000 cts. of possession and only plead to 12 cts. I agree 45 yrs is a lot, not to mention his death.

People need to demand it anyway because he was a human being and we need to honor him as such.

“Based off of everything discovered during this investigation, this Defendant posed a serious danger to the community. This sentence was needed to protect and prevent the continued victimization of children.”
How so? Yeah, possession of CP is not a good thing, but I wonder who hosted the sites where he got it? Was it the FBI? Probably because most private CP sites are taken down quickly by the authorities. Only sites run by the government are the ones that stay online for a long time.
This guy had no physical victims. While it is true that CP images are abusive to kids in that they are not old enough to consent, the guy did not directly abuse anyone except the dog, so to label him a danger to the community is too much. The guy needed serious mental help, not a lengthy prison sentence that lead to his death.
