UK: Hull City Council worker leaked sex offender’s address to paedophile hunter’s group – and 30-strong angry mob turned up at his home

A heavily pregnant Hull City Council worker leaked the highly sensitive address of a sex offender to an anti-paedophile group. This lead to a 30-strong angry mob turning up outside his new home and threatening to kill him and burn down the house.

Customer services assistant Chloe Carr told the paedophile hunters that the sex offender “deserves all he gets” and was “bloody awful” and “disgusting” but she asked them not to reveal that she had passed on the explosive confidential information about him. The sex offender had to be hurriedly moved to a new address and Carr’s unprofessional actions helped to “whip up a frenzy” and were “not a public service at all” because they “destabilised” convicted criminals and risked making them “unpredictable”, Hull Crown Court heard.

    Either I deserved a life sentence or I didn’t.
Nothing said about the wrong done by the official only what the former incarcerated might do.
“were “not a public service at all” because they “destabilised” convicted criminals and risked making them “unpredictable”,”

Fearmongering by the Government. Is it doxing if its the Government that’s doing it?

I wonder had this occurred in Daytona, Brevard, or some other place in Florida whether the woman would be punished. It certainly sounds like she had zero remorse. it’s. Hypocrisy to say the least.

Its amazing that she was not held responsible for almost causing that man’s death, but I guarantee if the man slips up and forgets to report one minor little thing when he registers, he’ll go to prison for 10 years or more.
This sure is justice, isn’t it?

I’m not sure where Hull is . I assume it’s England. Also I assume they don’t have a public registry like in the good old US of A.
So what was a crime there is perfectly legal here . Distributing names and addresses ( doxing) of individuals that have done their time and are trying to clean up their lives. What is the difference between personality handing over addresses or posting it publicly?
Seems to me posting publicly is much worse. The obvious out come is the same and for the same purpose to harm those that have had previous convictions.
Also I couldn’t believe they have the Gaul to question whether or not Ms Carr should be able to keep or obtain other jobs where public records are kept.

My biggest fear is a non registrant going on a spree and doing harm to me or my family. Our names and addresses are already published. It’s good that there hasn’t been rampant occasions where this happens but it has and could at anytime of the day. I know we all know this possibility lingers over our head but never will happen again!. There is so much more that needs to be stopped yesterday. Thank you FAC for continuing all that you do to stop this madness in our lives!!!!.
