Education

The mission of the Education Committee is to combat the waves of false information given to the public with empirical facts.  Despite the fact that registered citizens have been proven to be among the least likely to reoffend, media outlets and politicians consistently use public fear as a means of leveraging harsher laws and greater restrictions against registrants.

The hardest task facing the Education Committee is guiding the public past the fear and into the facts.

What you can do to help:

  • Get Educated:  Review the articles and posts on this website.  The Media and Education portions of this site hold links to articles and valuable facts about Sex Offender Laws and the Collateral Damage caused by them.
  • Get Involved:  You don’t have to be a member to help.  Knowing the facts and having the courage to and let your voice be heard is the first, critical step.  Know who your elected officials are, talk to your friends, and if you know anyone on the Registry direct them to this site.  There is strength in numbers.
  • Get Organized:  If you are appalled by the state of SO Laws in your community, join FAC as a volunteer.  Florida Action Committee is driven by the personal experiences and efforts of volunteers and every voice counts!
