Claims of sexual assault at Lowell (FL) Correctional Institution

The women’s prison in Ocala – the Lowell Correctional Institution – has a long standing accusation of abuse of the women incarcerated there and a recent report by the United State Department of Justice is adding flames to the fire.  This new report is claiming that the conditions at Lowell Correctional Institution violate the constitution.

The Civil Rights Division of the DOJ began it’s investigation in 2018, and with this recent report, claims that FDOC failed to keep prisoners at Lowell safe from sexual abuse by staff.

This was all over the news. The complaints were covered up for years. Finally someone took it seriously and now the shit is hitting the fan.
When the guards are worse than those who they are in charge of, they should be locked up to. This goes on in men’s prisons too, but the guards are beating you up instead of raping you. or setting you up so you catch more time or lose time for good behavior.

They need to go after those guards that did the crime, those who knew about the crime, and those whose job it was, to watch those cameras they love so much and didn’t do their job.

All of them should be charged for the sexual assault crime and accomplices to the crime, by direct and indirect knowledge. Ignorance is not a excuse when it is your job, to be aware of the said crimes.

They must be held to a higher standard, because they wear a badge. You pin that badge on your chest, you get that pay, you must be held to that higher standard.

      T&S

It is the old saying “who is policing the police”.

When I worked in law enforcement, I saw stuff that would make your skin crawl. But if you speak up, you are a snitch and your life is made a living Hell. And forget about ever getting a promotion, back up or maybe even keeping your job. One of the reasons I left.

As we can see here , the $200 million the government wants to spend on expanding the registry , is sure to help solve this problem.
    Right!,

But…but…but.. only people ON the registry commit sex offenses every chance they get. People in law enforcement and criminal justice could NEEEEEVER do such things. Besides, they don’t have any prior criminal records. (Typical average American logic caused by fear mongering)

I think this ought to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, as the State’s Attorneys like to say. However, further than that, I agree they ALL should be prosecuted as sex offenders and then forced to live under the same rules that they condemn us for.
My probation officer has a saying on her wall that I like–and I think holds some relevance in this situation. “Karma is a bitch. But sometimes, if you are lucky, God lets you watch.”

This Behavior is Perpetuated on Both Sides….We All Know it!

It is actually more Prevalent in Institutions Where Men are incarcerated….I have lost count of the stories I heard from Fellow Inmates who ‘made the score’ on a Female Guard….Oh the Stories, probably HALF are True…but those that occurred, were at the Older Camps where Security Cameras were absent and there were areas to do this stuff!
Most of these Men did it for cell phones and other Contraband…you could always tell during the Holiday Times, the fellow inmate who was passing the ‘Old Crow’ Handle around….He was the one Slinging his stuff!

    Happy Holidays!

Sounds like whoever wrote this article is upset that “DOJ” released this report:

“…adding flames to the fire. This new report is claiming that the conditions at Lowell Correctional Institution violate the constitution.”

    “SOURCE” is not a link.

In reading the report, “MINIMAL REMEDIAL MEASURES” are sickening. Nowhere is it recommended to hold the guards accountable or to prosecute those who are accused. The conclusion is to make the facility aware that this report is public information, again, sickening.
