Petition to Declare Public Sex Offender Registration in the United States a Violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)
Today, approximately one-million people in the United States are forced to register as “sex offenders”. The label leads to stigmatization, separation from society, loss of employment, loss of housing and even exposure to violence at the hands of vigilantes. The stigmatization extends to the spouses, children, family, friends, employer and anyone that associates with the registrant. The isolation, shame, stress, fear of violence, loss of income and other psychological effects are experienced by the entire household.
I’m not sure why anyone would put themselves through this on tv.
I hate to say “I told you so” but this isn’t my first rodeo. I’ve seen this crap from Dr. Phil, Oprah and others for far too long. They never tell the real truth that we all know because that is not what sells. Sex scandals always sell…always have, always will. I dont know why anyone would ever try to present their sex offense story like this. The only times I’ve seen it play out well is when a defendant has been cleared of all charges by DNA or actual innocence claims. Even then, its a tough sell.
Just watched the entire episode, and what a freaking joke. It would’ve been nice if someone had challenged that pretentious cop (and even the defense attorney,
he was a joke too) about the fact they use ADULT sites to entrap these guys, and photos of adult women(like in the case of the gamer).
Unfortunately, most people don’t fully understand that police posed as someone seeking casual sex. Then police pretended to be a minor who was doing this (seeking casual sex with adults), and on top of that telling these adults that they are minors doing this.
It’s not something that really happens. People saying that a minor would have been raped don’t realize they have also fallen for the police’s lies and stupid game. No minor would have ever been “raped” because there are no real minors pushing sex (casual/free sex) on adults who are seeking that on adult sites. Someone who has fallen for that (for whatever reason) is not a child predator. The police use a lot of deceitful tactics to get people to give in. They don’t show all that.
People who are saying these men would have “raped” a child are ignorant. These young men had (before this) and have (after this) spent a lot of time in video game chat rooms, where there are real minors. If they were going to try to “rape” a minor, that’s exactly where they would be trying that. That has never happened! Common sense!
Your comment just reeks of sense, how do you do that? Img your comment waa the mostnperfect, basic explanation of this and especially the take from the video
After reading a few comments and pondering how I was in my late teens and early twenties, I wanted to leave a few words about this subject being debated. Knowing the kind of young man I was in the early 80s,’ those police tactics could never work on me. I learned very quickly, as a teenager growing up in California (I’m grieved to say this, but I learned then, from bitter experience), most police cannot be trusted. The Miranda Rights tell us that: 2. Anything you say, can and will be used against you. Back in the early 70s,’ the States and Federal courts called these kinds of stings, highly illegal, unethical, and immoral. But, here we are years later, an illegal act then is permissible today. In my opinion, if I know certain young men- and most young men do- have a propensity to attractive teenage girls, then set a bait (pretending to be a teenage girl) to lure them in, I am in league with the devil. The Bible declares God does not tempt any person. I can say from the corner of my mouth one thing and from another corner, contradict it. The native Indians called it ‘Fork tongue.’ These online sex stings are highly illegal and unconstitutional. The Courts know it, but turn a blind eye to it. In some ways, what is happening across the globe, especially in America, is a result of open hypocrisy. Jeffery Epstein is an example. It is believed he was killed while in federal prison because of the ties he had with uncountable politicians, the wealthy, and Celebrities. I tried to watch the show, but could not. I truly feel for all who are on these public excess Sex Offender Registries, which should have never happened. But, as politics is (as Gorge Orwell describes in his essay, Shooting the Elephant) they wilfully corrupt themselves through hypocrisy.
Now that you’ve viewed the final edit of the show, would you still recommend it to people who may not be informed about this issue? Should they watch?
Shows the again go on adult sites. They find first times and weak ones and set it up. Its all about mic time, tv time, etc. to lies to public to save their careers and budget. Follow the money. I seen FL officers have sex charges etc. and I can bet they get slap on wrist but of their job. They not out to save nothing budget that $$$$$$ for the toys so they don’t have to do real work. Easy hook line and catch. They go online create fake adult profiles and lie about it in checking the box saying they over 18 that we would be in trouble for lying about if checked it but its ok for LE to do it just to fill the beds. They watched “How to catch a Predator” (that got canceled) and took the idea to boost the arrest numbers and fill beds. And they never going to be honest to public because it will demolish there Rep. LE does nothing wrong and that’s a big joke its like are government reps. etc. don’t lie and ripe off the tax payer. Its all loads of bull and not many will fight to prove it!
The 50 min mark was the best, the defense attorney was on point. Mostnof these cases arent people actively looking for kids. I wasnt axtively looking for child porn. I was on lineqire and it just showed up in my searches. Most of these internet sting people werent looking for a child and were in adult only chats. There are various variables to the nature of humanity that cause this, but its not that these guys are child predators. Theyre just lonely nerds that want some affection. And with all the crazy “you can be whatever you want” in todays society, people are confused
I know that Dr Phil is not going to say anything that ruffles the perspective of the general American public but i was a bit surprised that the 5 min clip after the main part he hammered the hell out of not speaking to police. He did it over and over and over. Kind of makes me feel like he knows how corrupt the police are. I mean why else would he sit there for five minutes telling his viewers not to speak to police. It wasn’t trust the police but be wary. It was pretty much dont trust police.
In the minds of these guys, they “thought” the girl was of age (by a pic or intelligence) but were told otherwise very specifically. Yet, they all continued with a meeting. I’m sorry but these guys are guilty.
On the other hand, yes, police go after these guys knowing they do not know the circumstances of their actions and vulnerable.
This is why I say ongoing education during early and late childhood on sex, the laws, and the penalties is key to curbing all of this. It should be mandatory education for all starting at a young age (even as young as 5).
But guilty of what exactly? There is no underage person. The laws of entrapment say that it is entrapment if the person is in a place where they normally would not expect that crime to happen, such as, prostitution if the undercover person approaches the suspect in a doctors office. To me the same thing would apply here if they’re on a site where you have to say you’re 18 or older to use it One would not expect an underage person to be there. There is no victim! If this type of thing is such a horrible problem then why not rescue the true victims instead of creating victims? No this is a big moneymaker for these police departments — end of that story
The gestapo took the video down. They do these things because they want the public to see it and to stop chatting with children. But they took this down because it shows that they break the “rules” of social media sites by saying they are over the age of 18, then entrapping people by saying they are not later. The judges don’t seem to mind cops lies about age to get their “lonely messages” posted to ADULT websites, but then expect them not to be lairs in court. https://drphil.to/dr-phil-full-episode-my-son-was-caught-in-a-sex-sting/ or parts one through three https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwZ4r9cAFdc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WQB7XmVu-g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RN0EF88wdKk
If you would like to speak with the cop in the show, Brandon A. Pursell Jr. (telephone number 559-600-8029)
Sheriff’S Lieutenant (2019)
Regular pay: $127,442.44
Overtime pay: $16,890.19

(in the video, he said he doesn’t get a reward of any kind for posing as a child to entrap people, what about 13,759? What is that from, not from being a school crossing guard. 13K is a hell of a reward.
Can you tell me where you got his financial info please? I would love to write Mr Purcell an email.
I went to the site to see the show and got a message that it had been removed due to a breach in content agreement. I really wanted to watch it.
Try going to Dr. Phil’s website. That is where I watched it.
Hi Charles – we have copies – we will be putting them up on both CAGE and LadyJusticeMyth.Blog
I’ll be watching for it. Thanks.
It’s appalling that anyone would be on a registry and probation for life for having no contact with anyone underage. It’s also incredible that lonely young men are sent to jail for this. There has to be a better way to educate them than stings and incarceration and basically ruining their lives. Lots of money involved and that can be a major problem in getting any changes made.
thank you bea – i appreciate the sympathy. I am doing everything I can think of to get this into the publics awareness.
The stuff that young people are going to prison for and having their lives ruined for have been going on forever. The only difference is the technology. Violent, forceful acts should be the only reason to consider in deciding to destroy a life. People have been ‘he’ing and she’ing’ throughout history. That’s how humans are ‘wired’.
I noticed the “police” part of the video, it was deleted by Dr. Phil show. But the whole point is to raise awareness, that speaking to a human under the age of consent, for a sexual content, is unlawful.
But if you edit out the contents where the cop gets to give his line, then what is the whole point? Just useless noise.
They deleted it because they didn’t want a debate or anything else. They just want their line to be heard, nothing about entrapment, nothing about why they went to an adult website to do this, instead of making a new site, like underagekids.com (please don’t click, I just made it up) and get the people who go to that site. I think this trick, is evil.
Entrapment certainly can be real, and sometimes vindictive. In 2018 a 65 year old man introduced himself to a 16 year old young woman who was waiting in the lobby of a local hotel for her mother to get off work. He seemed to be hitting on her, but the conversation was never explicitly sexual. He invited both of them to lunch one day and left the young woman with his phone number. He had no way to contact her again.
Not surprisingly, the mother was upset when she heard the story. Note that nothing unlawful had occurred at this point. The age of consent is 16, so even if he had propositioned her, there would have been no legal foul.
Unfortunately the mother just happened to be an Assistant U.S. Attorney, a federal prosecutor. Oops. Rather than calling the guy to warn him off as any enraged parent might have done, she went upstairs to the Office of the (state) Attorney General with which she had professional relations. She asked them to set up a sting, where the investigator would pretend to be the daughter old who would eventually claim she had lied and was really only 15. Of course it was the investigator who instigated sexual conversations in the text exchanges.
They agreed to meet during the day at a convenience store. When he arrived, he was arrested for online solicitation of a minor.
Long story short, the state district judge agreed with the defense that this was clearly a case of entrapment, and dismissed the case with prejudice. Chalk one up for the rule of law! The state appealed and the case is still languishing at the appellate court one year later.
Note, the defendant was immediately released but is still being kept in a state of uncertainty and, most likely, anxiety. This after having spent 11 months in pretrial confinement. He didn’t violate the law but was deprived of reputation as well as liberty for nearly a year.
This story just illustrates the lengths to which police and prosecutors will go in order to catch or create a “predator.”

Dear Ed C, you wrote: “The age of consent is 16, so even if he had propositioned her, there would have been no legal foul.” What state and jurisdiction was this case? The age of consent in Florida is 18. See https://www.morrisfirmpensacola.com/age-of-consent-in-florida/#:~:text=In%20Florida%2C%20the%20age%20of,older%20than%2023%20years%20old.
The case I referred to is New Mexico v. Richard Keller, D-202-CR-201803851 (2018)
Below is a quote from New Mexico v. Lisa Stevens, NMSC Docket No. 32,860 @{27} (2014)
“See, e.g., 1963 N.M. Laws, ch. 303,§ 9 (enacting a new criminal code and providing punishments for sexual intercourse with children under the age of sixteen years…)”
Interestingly in Stevens, the NM Supreme Court mentioned that in the state’s territorial days, a person did not commit a crime if there was consent and the child was 10 years old or older. Reading that literally made my jaw drop. The wild west indeed!! Since statehood, New Mexico has become somewhat more civilized.
The last I looked, the age of consent is 16 in 34 states and under federal law. Don’t quote me on the exact number of states, but I’m certain about federal law. That creates an odd situation where a person can have sexual relations with a 16 year old, but can’t take her picture. Under federal law it is production of child pornography if the subject was under 18, and federal jurisdiction can apply if the camera was not manufactured in the state (no kidding).
These federal laws apply to foreign travel as well. A U.S. citizen in a foreign country is not criminally liable under U.S. law for sex with someone 16 or older; unless that person is a prostitute wherein the age is 18 (also true stateside). Federal child pornography production laws still apply. Because the government claims “extraterritorial jurisdiction” over its citizens, one must abide by laws of both the U.S. and the host country.
Given the interplay between federal and the various state laws, the subject of criminal sexual conduct is a bowl of spaghetti.

Just wanted to make everyone aware that there are already 94 bills filed, at the time of this post, for the 2021 legislative session. Some have already been referred to committees. Of course there are already several “sex offender” bills (~10) filed. One bill will remove the fines as an obligation so it can’t be used to avoid being put on the registry. Others are rehashed failed bills from last session such as removing statute of limitations on civil suits, ensuring aged registrants cannot get out of prison early, but physically or mentally incapacitated ones may be able to, etc.

These stings frequently ensnare persons with low IQ’s or developmental disabilities. As I mentioned in a previous post, these persons are over represented in these stings and on the registry. We had a law professor here in Michigan who had a son with autism placed on the registry. In Michigan, a person with a developmental disability or autism cannot consent to having a sexual relationship. Logically, if the state views persons with autism as requiring the protection of the state in these matters then persons with autism don’t possess the mental capacity to commit these “crimes”. Any good attorney should attack a case on these grounds and hopefully get the case dismissed. Most attorneys don’t know about autism so this defense is foreign to them.
The attorney in this case is named Larry Dubin and he is a law professor at the University of Detroit. He wrote a book about this that you can purchase off of Amazon or at your local book store. I urge anyone who knows someone with developmental disabilities or autism that is on the registry to read this book.
Curious:
This is one of the flaws in the law. In some states the age of consent is 16 and you can have sex with a 16 year-old but it is illegal to solicit a 16 year-old online.
Right now I am helping someone in Indiana in a similar situation. The age of consent in Indiana is 16 but you cannot photograph a 16 year-old engaged in a sex act. When you think that you cannot photograph a person engaged in lawful conduct, you can understand the flaws in these laws.
It is even a bit more nuanced than that. It is not unlawful to solicit a 16 year-old online if the age of consent where he/she lives is 16. The key phrase in 18 USC 2422 (i.e. solicitation) is “to engage in prostitution or any sexual activity for which any person can be charged with a criminal offense,….” That wording is also used in 18 USC 2423(a) (i.e. transportation).
Photography is a different animal. The federal statute explicitly states the age is 18 (see 18 U.S.C. 2251 and 2256(1)). In 2423 sections (b) thru (e) the term “illicit sexual conduct” is used, which is defined in section (f) to include pornography production or commercial sex act for someone under 18. It also refers to a violation of section 109(a) (i.e. sexual abuse) with someone under 18. That is where the age of 16 for consensual sex is defined for federal jurisdictions and for U.S. citizens in foreign countries.
I don’t know if all of this is intended to make sex laws intentionally vague. However they certainly are, particularly when it involves interplay with state statutes. Registration laws are just as obscure. Good luck with the Indiana case.

As we used to say in the Navy while overseas…KYPIYP.
It’s not illegal to give an illegal plea bargain and people accept them every single day. Everyday people file 3800s to correct illegal sentences and get released. People are charged (information filed) every day for multiple charges that if sentenced to everything constitute double jeopardy by cautious prosecutors. Only most attorneys aren’t telling you guys this they play along and hope you’ll just take a deal based on fear because your facing life when really your facing 5 years or 15 years on a weak case. Do your own research send emails questioning the law to your attorney for later use as proof. Your more likely to force the attorney to follow the law if your emailing him “case law” than if you ask him in person. Attorneys and everyone in this life can forget things with no repercussions except registrants who forget to register on time or close their registration with officer error entered data you sign is correct only to be arrested for an email that is 1 letter off. At that point you are on trial for your past charges and those points attach to enhance the non criminal intent charge. This is law and order where as you provided the means and vessel they take their “pound of flesh”.
Our country’s puritan background has a part in this. Legislators have codified what was for millions of years just human nature such as an 18/19 year old man and 14 year old ‘girl’.
Mommy and Daddy are fumin’ angry that their precious little innocent butterfly is doinking the whole varsity football team.
Hell, many of our ancestors would be deemed ‘predators’ in today’s world.
No one here thinks it’s ok for a 19-year-old to have sex with a 14-year-old. But that’s not what’s happening in these stings.
I agree. All I’m illuminating is consensual teenager sex has been criminalized.
I feel fortunate that I was scared to death of sex as a teenager. I preferred fishing, camping, and model aircraft building. I should have stuck with those…although I have gone back to them since my wife passed away…add in politics.
“But she said she was 13”
“But they said the sex would be with children”
The best response to these is the one they like to use best:
IT DOESN’T MATTER!!!!
These are completely police created situations. There are no real minors seeking casual sex relationships from adults on adult sites, and there is no one, on adult sites, looking for random adult strangers to ask them to have have sex with their children. These situations are not based in reality at all!
Everybody who comes across a situation like this can’t even wrap their head around this, because it’s just not even a realistic situation.
The reason many people have fallen into this trap is because, naturally, they are curious about who would be doing something like this. Unfortunately, the only way to get the answer to that is to agree to what they want and specifically state that you will have sex with the minor. It’s pretty clear that they will just move on to the next, until they find what they want.
Would these people have really followed through and done what was requested from them and what they were made to agree to? It’s more likely that they wouldn’t have, because this is not what they were wanting to begin with. They were talked into it by police, and they agreed to it, in exchange for getting to find out who this person was and why they would be doing something like this.
In the end, nobody really knows or will ever know, because it’s not something that has ever really happened or is likely to ever really happen. The only thing police prove in these cases is that they can make people on adult sites say that they will agree to have sex with a minor. They have definitely not proven that they would have really done it, especially when there is nothing else indicating that. And they have definitely not served any real purpose for public.
Curiosity is the culprit in many of these cases. I remember when I was a kid and a group of us boys got ahold of a “Playboy Magazine”. We gawked at it out of curiosity. We had heard stories about it and we wanted to see if they were true. We didn’t go out and molest the neighborhood girls; we went fishing.
Good work T&S. Colombo would be proud of you.
Did you guys see this?
